Instructor
Melissa began her yoga journey with her first Bikram class over eight years ago. Having been involved in competitive sports all her life, she was looking for something that was kinder on her joints than running, spinning and lifting weights. She found that in yoga. After moving to Charlotte in 2005, she began taking Power Yoga classes offered
at various studios. After noticing the physical and spiritual benefits of a regular yoga practice, Melissa decided to complete her 200-RYT Yoga Alliance teacher training in May 2008 with Grace Morales at Charlotte Yoga. She has since attended workshops
and Master Classes with Andrey Lappa, Rolf Gates, Stephanie Keach, Bryan Kest and Peter Sterios. In April 2010, she completed a 230-RYT Yoga Alliance teacher training with Mara Healy at Yoga Flex.
What Melissa’s classes are like:
My classes are athletic and are designed to balance the body, mind and spirit with the
flow of breath. You will sweat if you breathe. Postures are linked together in a sequence
that will challenge your strength and flexibility. The goal of class is to leave class feeling
uplifted and energetic, not depleted. It’s yoga, an equal opportunity activity. Roll out
your mat and enjoy.
