About Arthur Brouthers:
Born in Charleston, SC, Arthur Brouthers always remembered being creative. Not having the resources to pursue his desired art education, he settled for a graphic arts degree. As a way of rebelling against his upbringing, Arthur followed a successful musical career that took him all over the country. Though this career provided him with a creative outlet, he knew something was missing. Tapping into a dormant creative outlet, he dove back into art and painting. Teaming up with a fellow art enthusiast, he helped create a successful organization called Culture Initiative in Charlotte, NC. Culture Initiative is a creative forum and platform for local artists. Organizing over 30 shows in 5 years for Southeast artists was a tremendous learning experience. Though he loved helping other creatives find their voice, Arthur used this inspiration to concentrate his efforts on a full time path as an artist.
The original paint spill that started it all was an accident that he has dedicated his life to exploring. Mixing paint with a multitude of mediums and applications helps him create an unique effect. It is a delicate and unforgiving process that can only mature after much trial and error. From start to finish, the process is therapeutic for Arthur; a form of meditation. Still dabbling in music from time to time, he has launched a much anticipated art career, showing at Sozo Gallery in Uptown Charlotte, Arthur is an innovative artist on the cusp of impacting the world of fine art. His ever-evolving talent is one to watch.
The innovation of the technique I utilize in my work is based on years of experimentation with acrylic paint, various mediums, and manipulating the environment. The results are not entirely predictable; which parallels the natural world my work emulates. The amorphous shapes and colors are easily found in nature; whether being under a microscope, through a telescope, or viewed by our own eyes. I pour the paint and create a reaction that mimics natural phenomena, forming images in an unorganized unity. A thick clear medium is often applied to finish pieces, providing a looking glass into an ever evolving natural reaction. The viewer is left to find resonance between the piece and their own perception.

Great studio for all levels of practice. A sanctuary from life which is student service oriented. A wealth of instructional talent provides hands on teaching and assists. Won’t find a larger and more convenient schedule anywhere. This even includes Thanksgiving and Christmas. Been to several studios and have not found the energy and great vibes that Y2 has to offer.
Y2 brings something new everytime! I have never known a gym or exercise studio that has its students thinking about the next time they can get back for a class while walking out of one all hot and sweaty. but we all do it! y2 is magnetic ! even on a day when you can find plenty of excuses to keep you from exercising, you know you will miss something special if you don’t go to class. so even in the cold rain , in dead of winter , when you barely get the kids to school in time or have time after work to turn back around to cotswold- you make it happen! inspiring! challenging! empowering! Such a welcoming staff and excellent instructors! i highly recommend Y2 because they always make room for your mat and it just feels so good !
I LOVE IT!
Of course it is my studio…

Without hesitation, The Best Yoga Studio in Charlotte. The owner, Tanner Bazemore, brings a unique quality to Yoga that you just cannot find anywhere else. He is the most well rounded instructor I have seen, integrating training styles into his yoga practice that come from years of experience, not only with yoga, but with total strength and conditioning. You WANT to be a part of everything that is Y2Yoga! It’s a lifestyle.
I love, love, love y2! I’ve worked out my whole life, lifting weights, running, spinning, etc and I have never been in better shape than I am now. I’ve actually worked in fitness starting a national corporate sales department for a very large fitness chain. I’ve been to other yoga studio, I’m from NYC (there’s one on every corner) and I promise you, y2 is by far the best!!! I joined, referred 6 other people AND I take my 4 yr old daughter every Saturday. By the way, I’m not friends with anyone there, (obviously I say hello to the staff and they know me) but no one asked me to write anything about Y2, this is the 1st review I’ve ever given promoting something because I truly believe the instructors and staff are really amazing at their job. It has changed my body and mind for the better! Keep up the great work!
