EXHALE

Dec 27, 2015

Anyone else feeling a bit worn out? I love the Christmas season but after the “big day,” I am done.  I have eaten enough, shopped enough, entertained enough.  I’ve decorated and cleaned and cooked and wrapped.  I have licked so many envelopes I seriously worried I was coming dangerously close to death by glue poisoning. Every […]

Breaking Down the Pose – Pigeon

Dec 9, 2015

The lights start to dim and the tempo of the music slows.  My heart is racing, sweat is pouring … “Right shin across the mat….parallel to the front mirrors as best you can….flex your foot…and fold” And so we meet again….Pigeon. Oh how I love to hate you. We have been in a volatile relationship […]

Yoga 101.1: I can’t touch my toes…am I disqualified?

Dec 3, 2015

Somewhere along the way in the past 6 years, yoga has become a defining trait of mine.  It has not been purposeful, although I suspect the yoga-themed, inspirational quotes from Pinterest that have overtaken my FB, Twitter and blog may have something to do with it. C’mon, that’s a good one, right?  We could spend […]

4The Space In Between

The Space In Between

Nov 26, 2015

Life is often marked, even measured, by the big moments. Big moments like a milestone birthday or the day the baby started to walk. Days dedicated to a collective celebration and even the ones that are personal remembrances. The next vacation or the day we close on a new home.  The feeling of anticipation and […]

Yoga Guruji vs Mr. Myagi

Apr 7, 2012

Krishna Pattabhi Jois was an Indian yoga teacher who developed the popular and gymnastic style of yoga referred to as Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga or Ashtanga Yoga. Yoga Guru No, this is not a question of who would when in a battle royale! (Clearly Guruji’s ujayii breath is too powerful a weapon against any mortal, plus if […]

Testimonials

  • I have tried yoga a handful of times over the years, but despite my desire to ‘get into it’, I just couldn’t take to it. Late this summer, a friend convinced me to come to a class at Y2, and I’ll be honest, I went because I didn’t want to miss out on the social gathering planned for afterwards. I LOVED it. Now I am addicted to it. Would never have thought it possible. Thank you Y2 for turning me on to yoga. I am a convert and am so happy to be a part of your tribe!

  • Best yoga studio I have ever been to. I have been going for almost two years now and i am more than pleased. The teachers are compassionate and skilled, it is a judgement free place where I can find my center and it has changed my life.

  • Love Y2. The teachers are great and the new studio is perfect. They have every class from beginner to the season yogis. The kids classes are great and my 5 year old gets really excited to go.

  • Come to Y2 Yoga prepared to grow physically and spiritually on your yoga mat. The community – teachers and students alike – is vibrant, welcoming, compassionate and courageous. The asanas are challenging, but the experienced teachers offer alternatives for all levels. The often intense heat and upbeat music are distinctively Y2 – not to be missed. Plan to stay a while in the beautiful Y2 facility – the massage services, retail boutique, and Namastay Kitchen also are amazing!
