In 2010, Jennifer found herself 10 years into a legal career that was high stress and demanded long hours. In an effort to find a little balance in her life, Jennifer and a friend made a New Year’s resolution in 2011 to try yoga. Having tried yoga over the years in a gym setting and seeing a glimpse of what it offered, they decided to dive in and go to a yoga studio. For Jennifer, it was just going to be a way to spend more time with a friend while doing something good for herself. After trying a few studios, she made her way to Y2 and has never looked back.
What started as a physical practice quickly became much more. Yoga became her escape from her day job and the constant fast-paced life. Jennifer realized it was the one time a day she wasn’t stressed, or worrying about her to-do list or what she “should” be doing. What she didn’t realize was that she was also gaining an entirely new community and second home.
Jennifer completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification in 2013 with Johnna Smith and Tanner Bazemore and immediately started teaching part-time. She has attended master classes and workshops with Bryan Kest, Tiffany Cruikshank, Kathryn Budig and Kerri Verna.
In 2016 Jennifer left her legal career to pursue her passions. One of those is yoga. Sign up for a class with Jennifer – “I’m so excited I get to share my love of yoga with my students and look forward to seeing you on your mat!”
