15 Days into the New Year….how is your fitness resolution coming?


So, like many others around the world, we made a resolution to get into better shape for 2021.  That can look very different for everyone; some want to lose weight, others want to gain strength and/or flexibility while others exercise for mental health.  Regardless of your reason, it is important to make your goals attainable and not expect change overnight.   Let’s be honest, it is one thing we actually can control, right? Yes, it’s true you can control how often you workout, but it’s hard to stay motivated Pre-Covid but even more difficult during COVID.  

Hopefully, 1 week in everyone’s feeling motivated to continue the plan you initiated for yourself.  Unfortunately, we know it can be hard to stay on track.  Here are a few tricks of the trade that can keep you motivated and coming for more.  

  1. Write your goal down.  Make this attainable so that you do not set yourself up for failure from the beginning
  2. Find a partner that you can count on to workout with.  Not only will it hold you accountable but it will also make it more fun.
  3. Make it fun.  Pick a workout that you actually enjoy doing.  We certainly recommend yoga at Y2 Yoga, but do what makes YOU HAPPY!
  4. Be Flexible.  If you can’t make a class you signed up for, go for a walk, subscribe to on-demand workouts, or just have a dance party.  Movement is most important.

Committing to your health is truly the most important gift you can give yourself.  Move and flow boldly!
