Intentions for 2016
January 7, 2016 Posted by Jen Eddins Blog
A fresh start. Don’t you feel it every time you step onto your yoga mat? This beautiful practice we share is our opportunity to reset and recharge, exhale and let go, inhale and grow whenever and however we need, 365 days a year.
Of course with the start of 2016, it seems the whole world is ready to join in on what we know can be done on any day. Resolutions flood social media (guilty!) so I thought I would share intentions for the year from some of the amazing staff at Y2.
…always looking to improve my contribution to the space around me. I need to lean into my children and my husband – and that doesn’t mean more time – it means better use of time…
Poetically said: Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu “May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.”
THIS IS THE ONLY THING:
I will cook from scratch and when I say from scratch it really truly means from scratch…So the New Year, is going to be all about soul food, and relearning some of my old ways.
Being intentional about how I choose to spend my time. Doing more of things I love and finding a way to do less of the things I don’t like. It’s also going to mean saying no to lots more things – even if that is a social engagement, volunteer opportunity etc that I’m not excited about. No more doing things out of guilt or perceived obligation.
Trying to keep my resolutions broad this year. A big goal of mine this year is to stop fearing the white space that comes when letting go of something and trying to be better about embracing what could come next in that space.
Finding peace by growing my meditation practice.
My ‘resolution’ this year is to be fearless.
Best wishes for a peaceful 2016! What is your intention for the new year?

Trish
