Kids Yoga Program

Kids yoga in Charlotte, NC has grown tremendously over the past few years and with good reason. The same calming, grounding, uplifting and empowering effects adults feel are available to our younger yogis, too. Our kids yoga classes always coincide with an adult yoga class, giving the whole family time on their mats.

At Y2 Yoga, we are proud to have a thriving kids yoga program. Our kids yoga teachers have been trained and certified in different methodologies including Twist Kids Yoga, Grounded Kids Yoga and Kidding Around Yoga.

All of our kids yoga classes are rooted in the idea that it’s great to have a plan, and important to flow with it! Every class is made special by the kids who show up, and no two classes are ever the same, although every class starts and ends the same way and your child will be sure to learn yoga postures and mindfulness.  They will leave class feeling energized, yet calm with some tools they can use both on and off their mats.  We strive to make yoga a fun and educational environment for them.  These classes are best fit for ages 6 to 11.

For our older children, we developed a special 6-week program especially designed for tweens and teens called “GRIT” (Growing Intentionally as a Teen).  In this program, we break down postures, explain the typical flow of our adult classes, and sprinkle in positive messaging these yogis specifically need to hear during this chapter in their lives.  The goal of this program is to provide a safe, welcoming, encouraging,  non-judgmental environment for these teens to learn and grow, making them confident and ready to attend any adult class.  These classes are held in our non-heated studio room (80-84 degrees), but will also include short portions of time in the heated class to give them that experience.
