Greg started practicing yoga in 2013 at the breweries around Charlotte because he felt more “stretching” was needed in his life. His background in sports didn’t expose him to yoga growing up so even after he discovered it, yoga wasn’t a large part of his routine for many years. That all changed when he took his first class at Y2 and found a place that simultaneously challenged him physically and also kept him centered and balanced emotionally.
Greg completed his RYT 200 certification in Spring 2018 at Y2. He wishes he would have discovered yoga years earlier but is happy it’s part of his daily routine now and is very grateful for the opportunity to lead others through their practice. Yoga has shown Greg it’s perfectly fine to meet yourself exactly where you are and to not worry about what everyone else is doing. Greg will be the first to tell you he has a long way to go on his yoga journey, but that the journey is the reward and wherever you are on that journey is exactly where you’re supposed to be.
During his classes, Greg will encourage you to be yourself, have fun on your mat, and, if you’re up for it, to give that one movement you don’t think you can do a try.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Greg went to college at UNC Greensboro on a baseball scholarship and made his way to Charlotte after. When he’s not teaching, he enjoys running, science podcasts, Cleveland sports, talking with Al Benson at the Y2 front desk, and cheat meals.
