Raelle moved to Charlotte with her husband over a year ago from Charleston for her husband’s family medicine residency at Atrium Health. Not long after, they added an adorable shepherd mix puppy ‘Luna’ to their family and are enjoying experiencing living in a new city. One day when Raelle was looking for a good sweat, she discovered Y2 Yoga and, ever since, she has been hooked. She loves taking the variety of hot yoga classes and enjoys making friends through the Y2 Yoga community.
As a “Georgia peach,” Raelle grew up in her leotard and dance shoes, doing everything from ballet and jazz to African movement and belly dancing. She discovered Barre classes during graduate school when she was completing her Master’s in Public Health. However, it wasn’t until her post-grad years when Raelle found her excitement for weight lifting as an addition to her workout routine.
With a focus on form and quality of movement, Raelle believes that anyone can build their strength and achieve the muscle tone they desire. Raelle crafts her classes to emphasize functional movement and both mental and physical challenge. Raelle loves Y2 Strength for its ability to strengthen, tone, and energize the body by incorporating cardio intensity, compound movements, and a variety of props for a total transformation. When she’s not at Y2, Raelle works for the Medical University of South Carolina and teaches barre classes at the YMCA of Greater Charlotte–and of course, lives in her leggings all year round. Raelle believes that Y2 Strength not only complements the yoga classes, but also pairs with a healthy lifestyle, positive attitude, and a love for one’s body.
