The Blog @ Y2

November 24, 2015 Posted by Jen Eddins Blog

So here we are…settling into our beautiful new yoga studio. Some of us have been a part of Y2 since the beginning over 5 years ago.  Other faces are new and fresh, eager to become a part of the studio and community of amazing and diverse yoga devotees.  Others, maybe you know them, are still assessing the situation – wanting to join in but still a bit unsure about this whole yoga thing.  Regardless of how we get through the doors, propelled by our individual motivation and desire, once inside we become a part of a collective group of souls coming together on our mats to move, breathe and sweat as one.

When I first began my practice five years ago, slipping quietly into the {old} studio looking for a kick ass workout, I quickly realized I had stumbled onto a true gem.  After I wiped the copious amounts of sweat from my eyes I started to see one thing that stood out above all else.  The peeps of Y2 are all….nice.  Seriously, have you noticed?  They smile.  They hug (sweaty) and ask how each other is doing…in earnest!  I knew almost immediately that I wanted (and needed) some of whatever Kool-Aid these people were drinking

There are many days I look at the schedule and wish I could just drop it all and go to every class – it is like a smorgasbord of yoga, and I want to pile my plate high.  The teachers here are devoted and wise and kind….they put a part of their heart and soul into every class.  There has never been a yoga practice at Y2 that I haven’t walked away with something that made me a better …. me. A quote, a personal story, a word of encouragement, a new friend, even a particular song lyric, is always there for me, just waiting patiently for me to see it.  Everyone at Y2, staff, teachers and students, have so many gifts to offer and want to share the magic of yoga so we can all grow strong on and off of our mats.

I’m Trish Rohr and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of the newest addition to the Y2 community.  I’m a graduate of Y2’s teacher training but feel called to serve through written and not spoken words. Together with the help of Jen DeCurtins (yogi extraordinaire and Y2 Marketing Director), I am rolling out The Blog at Y2 Yoga.  My goal is to bring you more of the Y2 magic. The blog will be chock full of inspirational stories about the yogis of Y2, sharing of experiences on and off the mat, as well as quotes and lyrics and words spoken in classes (for those days when you just can’t squeeze in 8 hours of yoga).

Look for light, love and laughter (of course – because we do not take ourselves too seriously here).

Come on in – let’s drink this Kool-Aid together!

Want to share your story?  Heard or saw something amazing today?  Dying for an answer to a yoga question?

I would absolutely LOVE to hear from you.  While I have a lot of yoga Kool-Aid in me, my well can always use a bit of refreshing.  We can even make this anonymous if you aren’t into the whole fame thing….something I clearly do not  have a problem with.  Let’s chat about it!  [email protected] or just grab me at the studio!  (I’ll be the one with my notebook by my mat so I don’t miss a single bit of magic to pass along to you.)
