Y2’s Very Own Giving Tree

Happy Giving Tuesday!!
Giving back and supporting others is an integral part of the practice of yoga and our community at Y2. The studio has always been a tremendous supporter of Charlotte-based charities through our Dharma initiative and other special events. We are excited to share that this year two of our teachers, Liz Bundon and Lynn Hughes, have organized a way for us to come together during the holidays to support and share love with our local homeless population of children, adults and pets.
Have you seen our tree? It’s a good one – lots of lights, big branches – pretty festive! The best part? The ornaments on the tree. Have you looked closely? Please do – these are very special ornaments.
Each one was made by hand by Liz’s children – over 300 ornaments for our Giving Tree. Each ornament on the tree is a chance for us to serve our neighbors in need. Y2 has selected three local charities, all of whom have a commitment to providing support for those facing homelessness.
A Child’s Place is committed to erasing the impact of homelessness on children and their education.
Humane Society of Charlotte works toward building a community where all companion animals are cared for without the threat of being homeless or unwanted.
Urban Ministry Center is an interfaith organization dedicated to helping our most vulnerable homeless neighbors to keep warm and fed this holiday season.
Each ornament lists an item and the charity it will go to. You are welcome to take as many ornaments as you like, as well as donate as many items that are listed. All gifts should be unwrapped and returned to Y2 no later than December 20 (note we need some items for A Child’s Place by December 10).
Thank you in advance for your generosity and compassion.
We would love to hear about how you give this season….use the hashtag #Y2givesback on FB and Instagram.
