YOGA AFTER A HAITUS

It’s Fall and that means getting back into schedules and routines, but sometimes it is more difficult than you expected to re-start your fitness/yoga routine.  Don’t worry you are not alone.  

When you do return to your practice, there are a couple of things that could happen; 1. you’ll fall instantly back in love with it and remember how good it makes you feel, 2.  you’ll realize how challenging  and hot Y2 classes are and you can’t remember the sequence, never mind even the postures.

The thing is though; the more we practice continuously, the more we’re likely to fall into habits, but when we come back to yoga after a break, it’s a little like being a beginner all over again. So, keep your mind open to new ideas, listen to the instructor as your body will be eager to learn.  Here are some tips to remember

  1. Don’t Judge. Rather than expecting yourself to pick up right where you left off, give yourself a break 

  2. Take It Slow

  3. Schedule Mat Time

  4. Props Are Your Best Friends

  5. Learn From Your Hiatus

  6. Enjoy the Process

  7. Grab a Friend and make it social 

Just grab your mat and show up and enjoy the process.  We can’t wait to see you in the studio!
