At Y2 Yoga we believe our practice should challenge us. How we respond to the difficulties on our mat represents a barometer for how we react to the difficulties we face off of our mats. The postures, the pace of the class, the heat...these are all obstacles meant to provide us with opportunities for growth. If we practice frustration on our mats, then we will get frustrated off of our mats. If we practice patience, non-judgement, persistence, determination, and belief in one's self, then we will be more resilient and more at peace off of our mats. It is a choice you make as a practitioner what attributes you will, ultimately, cultivate in your life's experience. Everyone's path is uniquely their own and what you receive from the practice will be determined by what you put into the practice.

The roots of Y2 Yoga: Ashtanga is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009). This class synchronizes the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind. Get more detail on the Y2 Yoga Ashtanga Program here. Classes are warm but non-heated. Temperatures around 84-88 degrees.
