Y2 Yoga is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS) located in Charlotte, North Carolina. We offer two 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) trainings yearly, winter and summer. We have completed 9 trainings and graduated over 175 yogis from our 200-hour power yoga teacher training program.

Winter 2018 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Schedule
Our teacher training is focused on power yoga and Ashtanga yoga. It is completed over the course of 8 intensive weekend immersions. Training weekends take place from 6-9 p.m. on Fridays and 8 a.m. -6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. In order to graduate, attendance is required for the entirety of each weekend. Absences planned in advanced will be excused but must make up assignments must be completed prior to graduation. 20 hours of observation and classroom assist time is required in addition to a group service project.

2017 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Tuition
1) Full Tuition – $2,999, $500 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration to secure your spot.
2) Early Bird – $2,699, $500 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration to secure your spot. Save $300 if you register by October 1, 2017.
– Early bird rate only applies if tuition is paid in full by January 5, 2018.
– Payment plans are available on full price tuition for students in four payment installments. 100% of tuition payment must be received in full prior to graduation on April 22, 2018.

About Our Teacher Training Leaders
Tanner Bazemore is the owner of Y2 Yoga and the creator of the signature style of power yoga that is taught at Y2. A 15-year veteran of the fitness industry, Tanner became a certified personal trainer in 2002 and completed yoga teacher training with Grace Morales in 2008. Tanner has also completed Thai Massage Practitioner Training with Saul David Raye.
Tanner’s knowledge of anatomy, sequencing and assisting is unmatched. Tanner also has a knack for adding comedic relief to teacher training at just the right time.
Jen Eddins is a graduate of Y2 Yoga’s first 200-hour teacher training back in 2011. Just 5 months after graduating from teacher training, Jen left her corporate job to pursue writing, yoga and fitness full-time. Six years later, she remains grateful for the experience of teacher training which helped her develop the confidence she needed to pursue the career of her dreams.
Jen is an E-RYT-200 with over 2,000 hours of classroom teaching experience. At the studio Jen serves as our marketing director and a lead teacher. Outside of the studio she’s a personal trainer and group exercise instructor as well as a blogger and published author. Jen wrote two books that were published in 2015, Ultimate Plank Fitness: 101 Plank Exercises for a Strong Core, Killer Abs…and a Killer Body and The Complete Guide to Yoga Inversions.
Common roadblocks and why they shouldn’t hold you back.
“I’m not ready.”
If you desire to deepen your personal practice and learn more about yoga, you are ready for teacher training. There is no set amount of experience required or a certain number of years of practice. We have had past trainees with as little as six months of yoga experience all the way to 20+ years of practice under their belts. It’s about your love for the practice and your desire to deepen your understanding of yourself and the world around you.
“My practice isn’t advanced enough.”
Doesn’t matter. For real. You don’t have to be able to do headstands and handstands on command (or at all) to enroll in teacher training. There is no requirement on arm balancing skills. We will not pick apart your asana practice. It will grow through teacher training as you learn more about ashtanga yoga and spend time on anatomy and assisting but teacher training is about so much more than your physical practice.
“I’m too old or too young.”
The beautiful thing about teacher training is that it brings together people from all walks of life. In our Winter 2016 Teacher Training last year we had 30 trainees including the following…
– A 17 year old high school student
– A 46 year old stay-at-home mom of 4
– A 51 year old career landscaper and gardener- A 26 year old newspaper writer
– A 34 year old divorce attorney
…And many more! It’s so amazing to see all of these people come together with seemingly little in common other than their love of yoga and realize that they actually have so many similar life experiences and so much to learn from each other.
“Now isn’t the right time.”
There is never a perfect time. You will figure it out. The one constant about life is that it’s always changing. If you feel ready now, figure out a way to make it happen now.
“I have to miss a weekend.”
Almost everyone enrolled will have to miss an evening or afternoon or entire weekend. We totally get that life is busy and we will work with you on makeup work to complete the hours you missed.
“I don’t want to teach yoga. Or, I want to teach a different style of yoga than power.”
First, you do not have to want to teach yoga to enroll in teacher training. Many do it for their own personal development and to deepen their practice. That said, almost everyone who graduates from our program ends up teaching in some capacity whether it be privates with friends and family, teaching yoga to kids or in schools, teaching at local gyms or teaching in a studio. Our program will prepare you to take yoga to many different audiences. We even have one past graduate who started a non-profit that teaches yoga to incarcerated and homeless men.
