Thu, Oct 2 (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM) w/ Michael Gannon
Y2 Yoga Cotswold, Upstairs/Studio Three
Yoga’s simple power of just breathing and flowing can become a moving meditation on its own. These practices can then prepare us to move into the stillness of an even deeper, seated meditative state (Dhyana). This night, Gannon will take us on an energetic ride, awakening the subtle body. We will sustain this light, energetic awareness in a guided chakra meditation. If your week at work or home has been stressful and making your mind rampant, this meditation will scrub the mind clean, setting the tone for a relaxing weekend. All levels are welcome. This workshop is non-refundable.

Science of Original Vinyasa System + Ashtanga Full Vinyasa Practice

Sun, Oct 5 (8:30 AM – 11:00 AM) w/ Michael Gannon
Y2 Yoga Cotswold, Upstairs/Studio Three
In Ashtanga Yoga, we can go through the motions—or we can truly embody the practice. With awareness, rhythm, control, and breath, we’ll explore the science of the Vinyasa System: its origins, meaning, and why understanding it is invaluable. Learn how to use the breath as your guide for every movement and discover the Correct Vinyasa Count for entering, transitioning, and exiting each asana. We’ll break down the Primary Series to understand the original “full form” of the vinyasa system, where every asana begins and ends in samastitihi. Then, we’ll move together through the Full-Form Vinyasa of the Primary Series, following the correct Sanskrit count. Few practitioners and teachers understand this method—and even fewer teach it. This rare workshop is open to all levels and offers a unique opportunity to deepen your practice. This enrollment is non-refundable.

GAVY Flying Sequence

Sat, Oct 4 (10:30 AM – 12:30 PM ) w/ Michael Gannon
Y2 Yoga Cotswold, Upstairs/Studio Three

Circus Tricks! The fun stuff that we used to do with our bodies as indestructible tikes. We used to be so much more comfortable being upside down when we were kids, and so much closer to the ground. Use your yoga practice in a way that can help you defy the laws of gravity again… as a big kid. Moving through a guided practice, firmly grounded in the breath and the bandhas, we will stop and explore the parts of the practice allowing us to move into arm balances. Working with partners, and balancing yourself on your hands in challenging positions is guaranteed to make you laugh. All levels, and all styles of practitioners. This enrollment is non-refundable.

Open Your Lotus: Elements of Sitting *Q&A Discussion

Sun, Oct 5 (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM) w/ Michael Gannon
Y2 Yoga Cotswold, Upstairs/Studio Three

For many of us, putting ourselves into Padmasana is NOT easy. And sitting there comfortably for more than 60 seconds can be like a Tapas practice of will and determination. This class will use a sequence of seated asanas to slowly, slowly free the restricted parts of the body that need to be loose to comfortably come into Padmasana and sit in peace. We can then use this new Asana, or seat, to ground ourselves for pranayama and meditation. All levels are welcome. This enrollment is non-refundable.
